The lonely Cat Project
This semesterproject consists of 3 parts: a fanzine, a book and a poster. The idea was to use cats as an image that associates to the topic “loneliness” and brings an unexpected aesthetic with it.
The fanzine contains of 6 facts about lonliness, which are presented through a custom-made type and a graphical implementation. The cover is silk-screen printed and shows various “lonely hearts ads” with cat-portraits.
The book, called “someone”, holds the lyrics of Antony and the Johnsons’ “Hope there’s someone”. One Line and a picture of a cat make a spread. If a strophe is finished, it’s marked by 2 symbols.
The poster is made out of 4 parts: from A6 to A3 sized papers. Cats are shown on the front, but if you fold each paper in half you can read: “Hope there’s someone who’ll take care of me when I die.”
